Eat and Drink in Aspen | Clark’s Oyster Bar

If it weren’t for the lack of humidity in the air, you’d almost forget you were in the mountains sitting down for lunch here. The décor is well-appointed to feel very East Coast, (without being kitschy,) like you’ve stepped off your sailboat to have the local oyster bar grill up your day’s catch... Except everyone’s dressed in hiking clothes and Kemo Sabe hats instead of Vineyard Vines and Sperrys.

I’m not much of a seafood gal myself, but according to my lunch-going companions, their oysters and the mussels are very good, and I can personally attest to the Clark’s Wedge Salad and the Clark’s BLT & the Grilled Cheese Egg in the Hole sandwiches. The BLT comes with a generous side of shoestring fries and little pinch bowl of what I believe are homemade pickles and if you love pickles, you’ll love these.

The real star of the show is the fresh-baked bread with salt, butter, and radish slices you get to start your meal off with. It’s hot, it’s fresh, and it’s DELICIOUS. They also run a happy hour special on weekdays from 3-5pm with half off martinis and burgers, 50 cents off oysters and $5 oyster shooters, to reward yourself after a hike up Aspen Mountain or a strenuous day getting your steps in on the Hyman Mall. Message me on Instagram @michaelacleveland_ and let me know what you thought of your visit if you try it out! If you try anything good I haven’t mentioned above, let me know that too so I can expand my horizons. Enjoy!
